This Weekend

We had a relaxing weekend spent together as a family. Spencer has been putting in a lot of hours at school and was starting to get a cold, so we took it easy on Friday night. We fed peanut butter and jelly to the boys for supper, which they thought was the best. After they went to bed, Spencer picked up Sonny's to go, and we had a quiet and peaceful meal together at home. Then we watched The Office, Season 4 on DVD, which was very funny. On Saturday we didn't do much. We basically hung out around the house, and after the kids went to bed, I sewed an apron for my sister, and Spencer did our taxes. Sunday was a great day of worship and rest. We watched (Spencer watched, and I clipped coupons) the end of the Super Bowl at home, and I tried to stay up to watch The Office but ended up falling asleep.
The only bad part of our weekend was that our furnace wasn't working well. Even though we're in Florida, it still gets cold at night, and the daytime temps were only around 60. The furnace just kept turning on and off over and over and over. It's located in the hallway between the bedrooms, and it's very loud, so none of us slept well all weekend, and the temperature in our house was rarely above 60. Thank goodness someone came today and was able to fix it. We're all ready for a good night's sleep. We're also thankful that we rent, so we only have to pay a very small amount of the repair bill.

Grant's big accomplishment for the weekend was giving up the pacifier. Now that he's 19 months old, the doctor said sucking on it much longer could affect his teeth. We were not looking forward to this, thinking he wouldn't be able to sleep and would be up half the night. We were wrong! He just cries for a few minutes before falling asleep. He asked for it the first night but hasn't asked
for it since then. Way to go, Grant!

Grant is always emptying out the cupboards and he found these buckets, which both boys thought would make great hats/helmets. They even got Daddy to join in the fun.
